The Coordinator – AiCS (Associazione Italiana Cultura Sport) is a National Sport Provider recognized by the Governmental Institution on sport at grassroots level (Sport e Salute spa) and by the National Olympic Commitee (CONI). With a network of 14.000 sports clubs all over Italy, AiCS promotes projects at national level where sport is meant as a tool to promote social cohesion and health, with approx. 1 million of single members.

AICS is one of the biggest grassroots sport federations in Italy, AICS has a vast experience of project management not only for EU funded projects but also in organising grassroots sport events. Since AICS is managing several activities aimed at promoting Mamanet movement at national level and closely cooperating with CSIT to stage international championships, it will provide its expertise on the coordination of the project and the stage of the not for profit event. The Italian Mamanet federation is an AICS affiliated association and they work side by side on the organization of the event, sending to the event a team of AICS sports specialists and participants who will take part in the not for profit event.

 In 2015 AiCS was the Host of the V Edition of the CSIT World Sports Games in Italy (WSG), where Mamanet was included, for the first time, into the Program of the WSG as a Demonstrative Sport. And there all the potentials of the sports but, moreover, the Movement beyond the discipline itself, were revealed and clear to the Managers of AICS who decided to establish the Mamanet Movement in Italy.

In February 2016, a professional Mamanet team from Israel started up a training program for Mamanet in Italy. The training course consisted of 25 representatives from all over Italy (Bari, Roma, Firenze, Forlì) who came to learn all about Mamanet. Since that initial moment AICS establishes the Sector AICS Mamanet Italia. Mamanet is included into the sports disciplines of AICS at National level with the necessary identification code and the insurance coverage.

Since 2016 the AICS Mamanet Italia Sector experienced a constant grow of the Movement, all over Italy, composed of sportswomen, women as sports managers and their families, to the current number of 800 women over 30 years old or mums practicing Mamanet and participating at the Mamanet Movement (from the cities of Roma, Forlì, Firenze, Lecce, Foggia, Asti, Bologna, Brescia, Treviso, Padova, Verona).

The project proposal EuMamanet, therefore, becomes a huge opportunity for AICS to optimize the investment done since 2016 in trainings, organisation at local, regional and national level of championships, participation at international tournaments and delivery of official trainings for athletes, coaches, referees to use this asset also to contribute to the enlargement of the Movement at Eu level.

In the recent CSIT World Sport Games Editions in Riga 2017 and in Tortosa (Spain) in 2019, hundreds of Mamanet players represented the Countries where Mamanet in the meanwhile was established (Israel, Latvia, Italy, Mexico and Austria). As Mamanet has a versatile means of implementation, and therefore it can pool resources, create synergies, and build multi-stakeholder networks and partnerships by bringing together a wide variety of actors from different sectors.

CSIT would benefit of the carrying out of the project EuMamanet because it would represent the driver of a Movement at Eu Level that would join the Confederation that acts at international level.

The Associate partners – 14 national grassroots sports organisations from Eu Countries

The project aims can be achieved through close cooperation with key staff people of the national sports organisations (Eu Countries) which are CSIT member organisation with the scopes:

Among those national grassroots sports organisations there are:

  • the ones which have already set up the Mamanet Movement and express the need to enlarge that because of the positive results obtained at national level insofar;
  • those ones where the Mamanet Movement does not exist or is still not enough developed to stage tournaments or championships; here the project objectives and the approach enables to provide tools and knowledge to efficiently start up the process and to become a national provider of Mamanet.

The purpose of the Public Institute for Tourism, Culture, Sports and Youth of Metlika is to accelerate development and effectively manage activities in the areas for which it is responsible. The main goal of the institution's operation is to improve the quality of life of the local population of all age groups. With the development of activities, the local community gains new or improved opportunities for active and creative leisure time, for socializing and cultural engagement, and, last but not least, for the development, presentation and marketing of products and services. With the increase in the number of activities and the strengthened cultural, sports, artistic and youth activities of the place, the tourist potential and recognition of Metlika and its surroundings are also increasing.
The main direction of the institute is to strengthen the recognition of Metlika as a green, boutique tourist destination and to create content and events that bring Metlika and the region Bela krajina closer to visitors who are eager for stories and experiences. The remoteness of Bela krajina, which used to be as a negative feature, is actually an advantage in the era of tourism trends, which are increasingly leaning towards a break from technologically oversaturated everyday life and overpopulated cities. In order to preserve, fully develop and take advantage of the tourist advantages of Metlika and Bela Krajina, the operation of the institute follows the principles of sustainable development, which emphasizes both short- term and long-term responsibility towards the environment and society.
