About THE PROJECT

About

The European Mamanet Festival 2023 is a not-for-profit EU-wide sport event, funded by the European Union, taking place in Cervia (Italy), aimed at promoting gender equality in sport, by an innovative model to challenge the existing status of women in the field of sport.

The event will be staged from the 5th to the 10th of September 2023. AiCS is the organiser, aimed at involving 14 Eu associated partners, members of CSIT.

 Since Mamanet is a teamsport discipline providing special requirements to promote the comeback or the first access of women over 30 years old or mums to the sport practice, the project has the objective to enlarge a grassroots sport community of women. Those are engaged to experience sport practice as athletes and sport positions as coaches and managers in sport organisations, with the involvement of families and community.

The project is carried out in cooperation with CSIT (Austria), the Mamanet Cachibol league, Mamanet Austria, Mamanet Italy and Hapoel (Israel). Before and after the stage of the sport event the project provides a wide set of preparatory activities, aimed at enabling all the involved Eu partners to enlarge the sport movement of women.

The Eu associate partners will be selected by AiCS (as Coordinator) and will be 2 types of partners:

– the Eu partners which have already established Mamanet at national level that with the project will have the opportunity to enlarge the movement through their participation at the project;

– the Eu partners where Mamanet has not been yet established that will have the opportunity to start up the sport discipline at national level through their participation at the project.

 The Mamanet Festival provides a diverse set of activities by addressing different target groups:

– Mamanet TRAINING COURSE for athletes practicing Mamanet for the first time

– EUROPEAN TOURNAMENT of Mamanet, involving sportswomen (athletes, coaches, referees and sports leaders)

– A SET OF SIDE-EVENTS encouraging social inclusion and equal opportunities in the field of sport for public audience (families, stakeholders, policymakers).

 The selected Eu partners will be fully engaged to send their new teams to participate at the event.

 The Communication and Dissemination activities, by the cooperation of AiCS, CSIT and with the support of Hapoel, start with the preparatory activities, ending with the final conference, through a set of educational tools, campaigns and media promoted at Eu, National and international level to launch the project and to disseminate its output, for an overall Social media reach of 1 million and 50.000 visits to the Mamanet Web Community.

The cooperation between AiCS and CSIT is aimed at boosting the dissemination at international level and at strenghtening the engagment of CSIT members into the European Mamanet movement
